We study families of polynomial dynamical systems inspired by biochemical reaction networks. focus on complex balanced mass-action systems, which have also been called toric. They are known or conjectured to enjoy very strong properties, such as existence and uniqueness positive steady states, local global stability, persistence, permanence. consider the class disguised toric contains all properties mentioned above extend naturally. By means (real) algebraic geometry we show that some networks an empty locus a Lebesgue measure zero in parameter space, while their is measure. propose algorithms one can use detect locus.
